Donald R Seaman
President – DRS Resource Investments Inc.

Mr. Seaman was born in Rouleau, Saskatchewan and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1947 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He began his career in industrial and design engineering before joining his brothers in 1950 at Seaman Engineering & Drilling Company Ltd., which evolved to Bow Valley Industries (BVI).

Don has been in the oil industry for over 50 years. He served as a Director of BVI from the company’s inception until his retirement in 1989. BVI grew to a multinational corporation with over 15 subsidiaries serving the oil & gas industry. His roles and responsibilities included Senior Vice President overseeing drilling and manufacturing operations, President, COO & Director and Senior VP. He also served as past director of the industry organizations, IPAC and CAODC. Don’s contributions to the oil and gas industry have been recognized through induction into the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Hall of Fame and as a life member of CAODC.

Upon retirement from BVI, Don formed D.R.S. Resource Investments Inc., where he has enjoyed mentoring a new generation of success stories in the oil & gas service sector, as well as a diversified portfolio of ventures such as land development. Don also serves as Director for CanElson Drilling Inc., CCR Technologies Ltd., Far West Mining Ltd., and has served several other corporations as a Director.

Another important aspect of Don’s life is giving back to the community. Highlights include the Seaman Family MRA Research Centre, the Robotic Arm Project, Ronald McDonald House, Heritage Park, the Seaman Baseball Stadium and the University of Saskatchewan. Don also enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, hiking and racquet sports. He is a member and past Director of the Glencoe Club and the Earl Grey Golf & Country Club.

From 1979 to 1994 he worked for Esso Resources as a Maintenance Engineer and then Mechanical Design Team Leader. In 1994 he became Machinery Engineering Advisor for Esso Production Malaysia. From 1995 to present he worked for Revolve Technologies Inc/Revolve Magnetic Bearings as the Applications Manager and then Advisor. Mr. Tessier has also started his own development company, Machineering Solutions Inc., and has developed some very successful downhole tools for the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Tessier is a senior mechanical engineer with extensive knowledge and experience with industrial rotating equipment, including pumps, blowers, turbines, compressors, and other high speed equipment. With these equipment types he has specialized in commissioning, failure analysis, and reliability improvement to name a few. He has provided team leadership for new equipment from specification through procurement, construction, commissioning and ongoing operation, as well as providing technical guidance and supervision to multi-disciplined, multi racial teams to conduct machinery surveillance, trend monitoring and machinery operation and maintenance.

His design experience spans design and development of conventional industrial rotating equipment to ultra high speed specialized magnetic bearing equipment. He has lead multi-disciplined design teams to design new concept magnetic bearing based rotating machinery for motors, compressors, machine tools spindles, pulp and paper machinery, textile machinery, semiconductor machinery, marine applications, and vacuum applications. He has a Master of Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering degree, specializing in fluid mechanics. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.

Brian de Clare

Brian has nearly 30 years of experience in the natural resource industry, working with some of most the respected investment banks in the City of London. He's done strategic advisory work for international Blue-Chip oil & gas producers, mining houses, large industrial consumers, pension funds and governments. Brian was short listed for the Euromoney "World's top 40 under 40 most likely to succeed in Investment Banking." He was an advisor to the Clinton administration on energy issues. A regular guest on CNN, CNBC, BBC and SKY television, Brian is also widely quoted in the commodities press.
