EnCurrent 025 Series

The EnCurrent 025 Series is our existing mid-sized line of power generation systems with an output capacity of 25 kW available in either high flow version (3.0 m/s design water speed) or a low flow version (2.4 m/s design water speed).  Larger than the 005 series, these systems are suitable for remote or grid connected configurations including supplementing existing diesel micro-grids or direct grid connections. The system components fit in a shipping container for easy transportation to site.  Size and weight of components necessitates the use of lifting equipment for assembly and placement in the water.  This system uses a high speed generator gearbox arrangement coupled to the turbine rotor.

The 25 kW systems are suitable for communities and other installations with a medium energy requirement, located near a river or canal that can support the depth and volume of water required for the rotor.
24 hour a day generation makes these systems suitable to power critical applications such as refrigeration or telecommunications. Application flexibility means they can be deployed in a variety of settings whether floating or fixed in position.  Multiple units can increase plant output to 100 kW or more depending on the requirements and the resource.

Minimum Clearances

Minimum water depths and widths are required for operation of the specified model. Adequate clearance must be maintained above the rotor to avoid ventilation behind the hydrofoils, and below the rotor to avoid contact with the riverbed or channel both during operation and during rotation of the system into or out of the water for maintenance or transport. In channel applications, a minimum side clearance is recommended to limit pressure pulsations on the channel walls. The power units can be mounted by a  fixed support or by a floating support. The clearance requirements may vary for different support configurations, installation environments, or customer preferences. The values provided below are intended as guidelines for an ideal installation scenario.
