Charles Dobson to Boost New Energy’s Executive Team

New Energy is pleased to announce that Charles Dobson will be stepping in to the role of CEO with New Energy at this very exciting time.

Charles brings over 35 years of military and commercial experience in project management, sales, and business development. Charles retired from the British Army in December 2006 after a successful 18-year career having reached the rank of Major. Commissioned into the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment in May 1989, he served as an Infantry Commander and staff officer in the UK and overseas including operational tours in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.  Charles was awarded the US Bronze Star Medal, while serving with the US 10th Mountain Division in 2006. 

Charles joined ATCO Structures in December 2006, working in the Modular Housing Industry in increasingly senior roles for 18 years, providing Workforce Housing Solutions for large infrastructure projects, in the capacity as project manager, proposal manager and led the business services group that comprised of HSE, QA/QC, proposals, ATCO Hunter JV, and Indigenous business development.  He was President of the ATCO/Hunter Blast Resistant Buildings Joint Venture for 5 years, responsible for profit and loss and growing the business.  His most recent role was with Canadian Utilities (ATCO Group), where he was responsible for leading the Indigenous Business Development team, by developing meaningful First Nation relationships into successful commercial partnerships in support of both ATCO Structures and ATCO Frontec.

Charles was educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and has a Masters Degree in Defence Studies from Cranfield University.
